Asher is extremely self-conscious. Most of this comes from being around Belle
Morte and other vampires, who regarded him as hideous. He constantly pays attention to where he
leans, where his hair his, how he sits, to best hide his scars. Only rarely does he forget to
do this. He also has very low self esteem from the years he spent with Belle Morte. In many
ways he's like a victem of abuse. He can't really get past the scars and he may never be able to
as many people still regard him as ugly. But with help from Anita, Jean Claude, and their friends
who don't pay attention to the scars he may be able to get over that.
